I welcome the support of Coloradans for Freedom and their efforts to help pass the Civil Unions bill in the 2012 legislative session. Public opinion polls continue to show increasing support for this common sense solution that will make families stronger and give them access to important legal protections. This should not be a partisan issue. It is about freedom and personal responsibility, and I think we’re all for that.
The Civil Unions bill will soon have a number – it will be introduced on the opening day of the 2012 legislative session, January 11. Stay tuned!

Colorado businesses and individuals who are delinquent on past years’ tax payments will have the chance to make good on them without penalties or interest under a bill that Gov. John Hickenlooper signed into law Friday. Senate Bill 184, sponsored by Sen. Pat Steadman, D-Denver, creates an amnesty period from Oct. 1 through Nov. 15 this year in the hopes of raising about $9.7 million for the State Education Fund.
